Cubs in Northumberland County
The Cub Scouts are the second section of the Scout Group following on from Beavers. Cub Scouts are young people aged between 8 and 10 ½.
Cub Scouts range from 8-10 ½ years old, though there is some flexibility in the age range; young people can join from 7 ½ years and can move up to Scouts between age 10 and 11. For more information see the guidance on age range flexibility.
There are loads of fun things that Cub Scouts get up to. Their programme offers a huge variety of activities surrounding areas of fitness, global and beliefs; whilst allowing them to be creative and get involved in their local communities. Cubs are introduced to exciting outdoor skills and take part in adventurous activities, as well as camps and residential experiences. Participation and personal development is the focus, with a range of badges and challenge awards that Cub Scouts can earn to recognise their achievements.
For Cub Scouts there’s never a dull moment. Excitement and adventure are key. From local visits and weekend camps to creative and outdoor activities, our programme is packed with adventure. You’ll learn new skills, make new friends and most importantly, have fun!
