Nationally we’re planning to migrate away from Compass to a new digital system during the Autumn term of 2024. Everyone currently on Compass will move to this new system which offers exciting new features to help manage volunteers, learning, awards, permits and more.

To make sure all members can easily sign-in to scouts.org.uk and use the new system once it’s live, it’s key that the data we migrate across from Compass is as accurate as possible. This will ensure a positive experience for volunteers when they sign-in for the first time.

It’s really important for every volunteer individually, supported by their Lead Volunteer to ensure their Compass record is up to date. You can easily update your own record at https://compass.scouts.org.uk

Essential (Need to be fixed by 30 September):

  • Records with no email address: Volunteers without an email address won’t be able to sign in when the new system is live
  • Undelivered or bounced emails: Email addresses spelt incorrectly, have unsubscribed or no longer work
  • Records with duplicate email addresses: Only the first volunteer with a duplicate email will be able to use it to sign-in. Others will be locked-out as they won’t have a unique email to create their username.

Preferred (Important but Not Essential):

  • Wrong roles held at Section level: For example, SASU and Support roles within a Squirrel/Beaver/Cub section.
  • Section roles held at the wrong level: For example, Section Leaders listed at Group or District level instead of Section level

Please take action and ensure yours and for Lead Volunteers members of your teams information is correct as soon as possible.
