Following on from the success of this year’s Northumberland Scouts D of E Expeditions we have agreed dates for next year.
· Bronze Training Event – Late afternoon Saturday 29th April to late afternoon on Monday 1st May
· Silver Practice – Early morning of Saturday 29th April to late afternoon on Monday 1st May
· Bronze Qualifying Expedition – Early morning of Saturday 3rd June to late afternoon on Sunday 4th June
· Silver Qualifying Expedition – Early morning of Friday 2nd June to late afternoon on Sunday 4th June
We will again try to facilitate anyone requiring a Gold Practice or Gold Qualifying by joining them with other Units.

Introduction to the DofE Course
The course is for volunteers who would like to understand the mission and principles of the award; as well as understanding the levels, sections and timescales.

Expedition Assessor and Supervisors Training Course
The course is for volunteers who wish to be Expedition Supervisors and Assessors. You will get a understanding of the roles, the 20 conditions of the expedition section, supervision planning and how to assess expeditions. You have two years from the date of the course to register to become an assessor.
Please note that attendance at this course does not allow you to automatically assess expeditions – you would need to have the technical competence – your County DofE adviser will need to approve your technical competence – you might like to discuss this with them before attending.
